Everest sometimes gives you links to a driver update site - see what it says about the motherboard.ĮDIT - you may not need to bother with that, check the Gateway site. My guess is your sound would be onboard (part of the motherboard) so look for something associated with AC'97. Run Everest then look under 'motherboard chipset', and 'multimedia' and anywhere else you see related to sound.

So we need to identify your sound card and then track down a driver for it frm the internet. Windows is not recognising your sound card and cannot find a driver for it - so its parked it in 'Other devices'.
